Rors Signs Off For Poorest Result All Season

Six-time major winning earned a rousing reception in birdieing the final round in the 2026 DP India Championship in New Delhi.

Though it was little comfort for McIlroy in signing off for closing round of 74 to share 42nd place at four-under on the host Delhi GC course.

McIlroy’s effort was 17 shots adrift of super Spaniard Eugenio Chacarra who became the first player on this year’s DP World Tour to capture three titles and with Chacarra having won the KLM Open and Italian Open back in June.

Victory in the Indian capital has lifted Chacarra to the top of the Race of Dubai.

A check of McIlroy’s scorecard reveals he managed two eagles, 14 birdies but also 10 bogeys and a pair of double-bogeys.

McIlroy’s previous poorest effort this year was mid-September in finishing T41st in the Irish Open.

The current World No. 2 will next tee-up in November 5th commencing Abu Dhabi Championship ahead of the season-closing DP World Tour Championship in Dubai and where McIlroy will be looking to capture a record-setting eighth Race To Dubai money-list title.

Of course, Chacarra may now have other thoughts on that matter!
