World No. 1 and past Masters champion Scottie Scheffler along with good friend Sam Burne will be hoping their first born will stick with the predicted birth and don’t arrive early this week while each are contesting the Masters.
Scheffler and wife Meredith are expecting their first child in some three weeks and if all goes to plan that will be the week of the Zurich Classic in New Orleans.
Burns’ wife is also excitedly looking forward to becoming a father and with his wife, Caroline due to give birth also to the couples first born in just over a week.

The Americans are best friends, both aged 27, and naturally understood to again staying together at Augusta as they did in 2022 however the pair have also vowed to be heading back down Magnolia Lane as fast as they can should their respective wives go into labour, as revealed in the Golf Channel’s broadcast from Augusta.
Asked about the prospect of becoming a dad, Scheffler replied: “It’s going to be pretty wild. I don’t think it’s hit either of us quite yet but it’s an exciting time for us as a family.
“It’s been a pretty exciting last seven months or so and we’re looking forward to hopefully getting the baby out of there nice and healthy and with a healthy momma, and then we’ll go from there.”
The Scheffler’s have been married four years, both growing-up in Texas where they met attending Highland Park High School.
Burns and his wife got engaged in April 2019, with the couple marrying eight months later in December. The pair, who both grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana met in a class at church when they were just five-years-old and, despite attending different high schools, would start dating at Louisiana State University.
Of course, captured a maiden Masters in 2022 and this week will be a fifth straight Augusta showing while Burns made his Masters debut in ’22 and is teeing-up in a third Masters.
