Norman Showers Praise On Masters Patrons

Greg Norman’s disappointing inside the Masters ropes career is well-known however the LIV Golf CEO could not be happier after his latest visit to Augusta National.

Norman arrived Tuesday via the patrons entrance and was soon spotted following the practice rounds efforts of the likes of fellow Australians in Cam Smith, Jason Day and Min Woo Lee.

The golfer well-known as the Great White Shark was wearing his trademark straw hat however little did Norman expect the sheer volume of patrons, and even the Augusta National security staff, reaching to shake the hand of the LIV Golf boss.

Norman remained until Wednesday but in returning to his luxury Hobe Sound abode he released a lengthy message via his Instagram account to all those who he met over the two days walking the famed Augusta course.

“The hundreds if not thousands of people, from the drivers, to the parking lot attendants, security guards, the servers in the concession stands .. yes had my first Ham Cheese sandwich and Peach ice cream sandwich, the guys who controlled the gallery crosswalks, but most importantly to the patrons of The Masters, thank you for your unanimous support,” wrote Norman.

“It was humbling, moving and I was taken back by your words of encouragement – ‘thank you for what you have done for golf” ‘don’t stop’  ‘Love LIV’ and the one that got to me personally and emotionally ‘welcome back.’

“My right hand is sore from shaking hands with each and every one of you as well as the hugs given to so many.”

There were 13 LIV players teeing-up at this year’s Masters, five less than a year but unlike 12 months ago, the LIV players were wearing LIV logoed attire – all with the exception of Brooks Koepka who was decked-out in Nike logo attire.

“Golf is golf and on the hallowed grounds of Augusta National healthy competition (which is the bedrock of America) resonated.

“Thank you all for the 3 days of incredible and touching memories!

“And to the players contending the final round today, enjoy the purity of the game ahead, focus and play hard. Golf is always the winner!”

Who knows but Norman could very well return next year via the VIP gates should negotiations to reunite the men’s professional game be successful.
