How Double Masters Champ Scheffler Ended-Up In Dallas ‘Lovers Lane’ Bar

We now know more details of double Masters winning Scottie Scheffler’s very early Monday morning celebration back home in his beloved Dallas.

Golf fans were made aware earlier this week that it was from the sports bar at the Inwood Tavern, on Inwood Road near Lovers Lane in Dallas where a Facebook photograph was posted of Scheffler, wearing his Augusta National members green jacket along what looks like an Inwood Tavern cap while also dressed in his Sunday golfing attire as he stands alongside two admiring fans.

“Welcome home Champ!!! Congratulations to you and your growing family,” the Inwood Tavern said in their post.

Now ahead of today’s commencing RBC Heritage Classic the World No. 1 went into full detail how he, his heavily pregnant wife, Mererith and members of his team ended-up in the very early hours of Monday morning in the Dallas bar.

“I don’t really frequent either of those — that place very often”, said the very religious Scheffler.

“I don’t know if I’d actually been to that place before. There was another tavern around the corner that I’d been to a few times and it’s a nice place, but shockingly it wasn’t open Sunday at 1:30 in the morning. This place was open.

“So on the plane ride home, I was with my manager Blake (Smith) and my coach Randy (Smith) and then I had four of my good buddies with me, and I don’t remember who suggested it, but it seemed like a good idea, and when Meredith picked us up at the airport it still seemed like a good idea, and Meredith was down, so we went for probably 20 minutes and went home.

“We ook a few photos, had a drink and then went home and went to bed”.

Of course, having won a second Masters in three years Scheffler, and also with his wife now just days away from having the couple’s first child, could have been forgiven in wishing to sit out this week’s event at Hilton Head.

Howver, that does not seem in Scheffler’s make-up and whether or not he is soon to become a father.

“Not really. I made a commitment to this tournament,” he said.

“Like I said, I like coming here and playing the golf course. Yeah, I’m a bit tired right now, but I’ve got all afternoon today to continue to rest and get ready for the week”.
