Struggling Nick Dougherty made of mockery of his horror season to snatch a two-stroke lead on the opening day of the Omega European Masters in Switzerland.
The 28-year old Englishman arrived in Swiss Alps having missed the cut in all 20 tournaments this year and also plunging to 791st in the world rankings.

A tearful Thomas Bjorn set about wiping the memories of eight years ago to share the lead on the opening day of the 140th Open Championship.
Bjorn was out in the sixth group of the day and when conditions were at the hardest to record a five under par 65 on the host Royal St. George’s course in Kent.

The England duo of World No. 1 Lee Westwood and compatriot Ian Poulter said they’d welcome being among those to carry the 2012 London Olympic torch.
The 2012 London Olympic Games torch will begin its 70-day journey around the UK starting at Land’s End on May 18th, 2012.
A total of 8,000 people will get to carry the torch.
