140th Open Championship – Day 2 Practice Round Pics
The second official practice day dawned bright but a lot windier.
However before showing you a selection of pics, we were hosted on Monday night in the now traditional Callaway ‘Meet the Players’, and this year at the Prince’s course, and venue for Gene Sarazen’s 1932 Open triumph.

For the first time in the events history rain has forced the Barclays Scottish Open into being reduced to a 54-hole championship.
Heavy rain lashed the Inverness region very early on Saturday morning further postponing the restart to the already delayed second round in the event being played on the Castle Stuart course.
There was local flooding in and around the northern Scottish city with portions of the main A9 motorway closed due to dangerous driving conditions.

Rock Ends 10-Year & 209 Event Wait For Success In BMW Italian Open
A smiling Robert Rock finally ended a near 10-year winless drought to capture the BMW Italian Open in Turin.
Rock, 34 carded a final round 67 to win by a stroke with a 21-under par tally on the Royal Park course.
The bearded Englishman now heads to Thursday’s starting U.S. Open in the best form possible with victory in his 209th Tour event.

Westwood & Poulter Welcome Chance To Carry 2012 Olympic Games Torch
The England duo of World No. 1 Lee Westwood and compatriot Ian Poulter said they’d welcome being among those to carry the 2012 London Olympic torch.
The 2012 London Olympic Games torch will begin its 70-day journey around the UK starting at Land’s End on May 18th, 2012.
A total of 8,000 people will get to carry the torch.
Former double British Open winning Greg Norman carried the Olympic flame over the Sydney Harbour Bridge ahead of the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.

Kaymer & Westwood To Go Head-to-Head At Augusta
For a second time this year the World’s top two golfers will go head-to-head with Martin Kaymer and Lee Westwood being grouped for the first two rounds of the 2011 Masters.
Augusta National officials released the draw near lunch today with the World No. 1 ranked Kaymer and World No. 2 Westwood along with American and World No. 10 Matt Kuchar teeing up at 10.19am local time Thursday.
Kaymer and Westwood were also grouped for the opening two days of the recent Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

Severe Storm Creates Havoc & Delay To Masters Practice
A severe overnight electrical storm had Augusta National staff working overtime to clear the debris of fallen trees and leaves from the Masters host venue.
The storm hit the Augusta region late on Monday night bringing down power lines and trees.
One of the many stately trees on Magnolia Lane came crashing down with a portion of the tree falling on the roadway.
Greens staff took to the fallen tree with chain saws while all about the course other greens staff were busy ridding the course of leaves ...
McDowell Declares – Time To End Europe’s Masters Drought
Graeme McDowell’s declared it’s time to end Europe’s 12-year Masters winning drought.
The Masters fans got their first look at the reigning U.S. Open champion yesterday (MON) when he played a full practice round with fellow Ryder Cup winning hero, Ian Poulter.
And they liked what they saw with McDowell being mobbed at every turn of the Georgia golfing gem.
