Scotland’s Stephen Gallacher brilliantly holed an eagle bunker shot at the last to break Tiger Woods’ 12-year old 54-hole record in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.
Gallacher’s 30-yard gem from the sand also steered the Scot in recording his lowest-ever round of a 10-under par 62 that handed him a three shot leading cushion heading to the final day in Dubai.

French golfer Thomas Levet this week celebrates his 500th European Tour event when he tees up in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.
Levet, a winner of six Tour titles including his stunning 2011 French Open success, is the 24th player to celebrate 500 tournaments.

When England’s Chris Wood was growing up he carried with him a small note book and he used the book to jot down notes from watching famous golfers on TV.
