The staging of the 2016 PGA Championship will shift to late July in two years time to accommodate golf returning to the Summer Olympics.
The move was announced by the PGA of America, which will stage the 2016 edition July 28-31 at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey.
The British Open is set for July 14-17 at Royal Troon, leaving only 11 days between the final two majors of the year.
The 2016 Olympics will commence five days after the staging of the 2016 PGA and set to be staged from August 5th to 21st, 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The men and women golf competitors in those games will be determined by the World Golf Rankings as of July 11 that year.
And it will be the first occasion since 1904 golf will be seen at the Olympics.
