MacIntyre Likely To Be ‘Cut’ From A Second Major In Succession

Top-ranked Scottish golfer Robert MacIntyre is headed for a second missed cut in as many major championships.

After the huge embarrassment of the events at Augusta National that saw MacIntyre sit out the weekend rounds at The Masters and he’s staring at missing the halfway cut at the PGA Championship at the Aronimink course is Pennsylvania.

MacIntyre produced a bogey-laden second round five-over 75 and added to his opening level par 70 had him at five-over and two shots outside the present projected cut mark of three-over.

If so, it will be a first occasion in 21 major championship appearances MacIntyre has missed the cut in back-to-back majors.

MacIntyre had produced a steady first round of two birdies and three bogeys but in stark contrast his second day’s effort was a sour mix of just two birdies but also six bogeys and a 12th hole double-bogey.

The Scot left the course nine shots from the lead but in the bigger picture, four spots outside playing all four days.
