With Dustin Johnson tied for the lead, each of the remaining top 5 seeds must win the tournament in order to win the FedExCup.

If Rory McIlroy wins the TOUR Championship and Dustin Johnson finishes T2 or worse, Rory will win the FedExCup.  If Dustin Johnson finishes solo second, Dustin wins the FedExCup.  This leaves a possibility that, as the leaderboard stands, Kevin Chappell could determine the FedExCup champion based on whether he wins, ties for second or finishes third.
To win the FedExCup – No. 1 Dustin Johnson (T1)
  • Must win the tournament
OR
  • Finish 2nd AND
  • Patrick Reed must finish in a two-way tie for 2nd or worse (T20)
  • Adam Scott must finish in a two-way tie for 2nd or worse (T14)
  • Paul Casey must finish in a two-way tie for 2nd or worse (T7)
OR
If any of the following players win the TOUR Championship, to win the FedExCup Dustin Johnson must finish:
