Rahn Reckons LIV Golfers Strong To Win Another Masters

in Miami, FL

With just less than 90 players teeing-up in next week’s Masters the odds a LIV Golfer winning the 88th hosting of the major championship is strong.

That’s the view of defending Augusta National champion Jon Rahm just a week out from his defence of the year’s maiden major championship.

Indeed, there will be 13 LIV Golf stars taking the drive down Magnolia Lane and with those 13 also teeing-up this week at LIV Miami on the famed ‘Blue Monster’ course at Trump Doral.

“There are quite a few major champions in LIV, and there are a few that are Major Champion quality golfers,” said Rahm.

“So just pure numbers, if you go with maths, the odds of a LIV player winning wouldn’t be the highest, but I’m confident that one of us can get it done this year.”

It’s a view shared by fellow LIV star and double Augusta winning Bubba Watson.

“There’s some great golf being played out here, some great golf being played on the other tours, and so it’s going to be a battle”, said Watson and winner at Augusta in 2012 and 2014.

“We are pulling for our friends no matter where they play but it’s going to be a battle and hopefully it is a LIV player and hopefully, I’m in that top five or challenging on Sunday.”

While Brooks Koepka, and who lost out last year over the Augusta final round to Rahm, also likes the chances of a fellow LIV player being triumphant.

“I mean, I feel like, I don’t know, obviously chances are pretty good. There’s a lot of good players. I don’t know how many guys are in the field,” said Koepka.

“Usually about 90, right? Usually about 90. So you know, probably got, what, 15 percent — you’re better at math and numbers”.

The 13 LIV players heading to the Masters also include fellow past champions Phil Mickelson, Charl Schwartzel, Patrick Reed, Dustin Johnson and Sergio Garcia.

Between the seven Augusta winners they boast 10 green jackets.
