EXCLUSIVE … Top-Scot Bob MacIntyre is staring at two of the biggest exclusive tournaments of his short PGA Tour career he’ll contest this week in his new home state of Florida.
MacIntyre will tee-up tomorrow (Monday) for a first time in the Seminole Player/Member outing at the just as exclusive Donald Ross designed Seminole Club course at Juno Beach.
The Scot along former Scottish Open champ Rickie Fowler are in the fourball behind Tiger Woods, who is returning to competition for a first time in three weeks when illness forced him out early on day two of the Genesis Invitational.
MacIntyre said: “It’s a great field. Looking forward to it very much.

“I’ve not played Seminole before but then also heard so much about it. It’s a regular event and they also played the Walker Cup there a few years back that Stuart Wilson captained. It’s also a great field they’ve assembled”.
MacIntyre and Fowler’s amateur partners will be Seminole members George ‘Buddy’ Marcurri, known for being up against Woods when ‘TW’ made it back-to-back US Amateur titles at the 1995 championship, and also a double US Walker Cup captain, and business tycoon Brett Overman.
And it was Overmann, and CEO of National Disaster Solutions, a US-based restoration business who got MacIntyre sorted as they played as his team mate in last year’s Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland.
MacIntyre said: “I’ve got a good connection with Brett. He’s a great guy and despite the weather last year, we had a good time at the Dunhill.
“It’s going to be a nice, friendly, competitive round of golf, so it should be fun”.
MacIntyre was speaking after his closing round of 70 for a two-under tally to finish well down in the Cognizant Classic at Palm Beach Gardens.
He said: “It was an alright week. It’s points on the board. It’s moving forward”.
Immediately following his playing in the Seminole event the Scot was heading south to Puerto Rico where he will join fellow Scots Martin Laird and Russell Knox in Thursday’s starting Puerto Rico Open.
MEANTIME ….
Connor Syme found himself again left short-changed in letting slip a maiden Tour victory for a second week running at the SDC Championship at Eastern Cape in South Africa.
Syme went into the last day tied for the lead and moved clear of the field with an early birdie only to produce a horror closing 13 holes of just one birdie but three bogeys and a 14th hole double in a 74 to drop back to a share of fourth at eight-under.
Tour rookie American Jordan Gumberg birdied the second extra hole to deny crowd favourite Robin ‘Tiger’ Williams after the South African, named after Tiger Woods, had doubled his 71st hole in regulation play when leading by two.
