Manassero At Long Last Returns To The Winners Circle Capturing Toscana Open

Former Italian teenage sensation Matteo Manassero has ended a seven-year winless drought to capture the Toscana Alps Open on the Alps Tour.

Manassero holed a birdie putt on the last to win for a first time since capturing 2013 since capturing the European Tour’s flagship BMW PGA Championship.

The now 27-year old posted rounds of 63, 65 and 66 for a 19-under par 54-hole total on the Golf Club Toscana at Grooseto.

The Italian created history in 2009, and at age 16, in becoming the youngest winner of the Amateur Championship.  In April, 2010 he became the then youngest to make the cut in the Masters.

Then in October 2010, and at age 17, he became the youngest winner on the European Tour in capturing the Castellon Masters.  In 2011, and in winning the Singapore Masters, he became the youngest double winner on Tour and then a year later, Manassero collected a third title to be the only teenager to win three times before the age of 20 on the Tour.
