Woods Confirms Quicken Loans National To Be His Only Event Before Returning To Carnoustie.

Shinnecock Hills, NJ …

Tiger Woods confirmed he will contest one event between missing the halfway cut in the U.S. Open and returning to Carnoustie for a first time in 11-years to contest the 147th Open Championship.

The event will be the June 28th commencing Quicken Loans National at TPC Potomac in Maryland.

It is an event run by and benefitting the Tiger Woods Foundation.

Tiger Woods on day two of the 2018 US Open.

“I’ve got a week off, and then I’ll play the National and then head over to the British,” he said.

Strangely, Woods has never teed-up at TPC Potomac but then he’s no stranger to Carnoustie having commenced the 2007 Open by puttnig his 2-iron opening tee shot into the Barry Burns that was then out-of-bounds and running all the way down the left side of the first hole.

Woods entered the U.S. Open ranked World No. 80 but then he needs to break back into the world’s top-50 at the end of July if he is to realize his hope to play the very last WGC-Bridgestone Invitational event at the Firestone CC in Akron, Ohio.

Woods has captured the WGC – Bridgestone on eight occasions and his last victory anywhere was on the Firestone course in 2013.
