When you miss the cut in an event a golfer can’t wait to get out the front gates quick enough well except if you’re the defending Masters Champion, Danny Willett.

Of course, Willett’s job was to fit the Augusta National members jacket to the 2017 Champion.

But rather than hang around Augusta Willett teed-off just after 10am local time and the nearby Forest Hills course.

Danny Willett visits the Forest Hills Pro Shop and plays the course ahead of presenting the Masters green jacket.

The Sheffield golfer was among two foursomes and with his caddy, Jonathan Smart also joining the gathering.

“It was a cool experience; he was very friendly,” said Kellie Pitts, a Forest Hills pro shop attendant.

“It’s really exciting. We recognized him when he walked in.”

“When I saw his name on the draw sheet I thought, ‘how cool that he’s playing our course.

“I was just exciting seeing a Masters champion come walking into the pro shop”.

She said Willett happily obliged in signing a few autographs and having a few pics taken.”
