Ryder Cup Rivals Love 111 & Clarke Planning Fishing Trip Get-Together.

Hilton Head, SC …

Victorious US Ryder Cup captain Davis Love 111 revealed he and his European counterpart will meet up for a first time since the events of last October on a possible up-coming fishing trip.

The rival Hazeltine captains have not met since Love’s USA dozen crushed Clarke’s Euro team by six points to regain the trophy.

Love 111 continues to bask in the glory of some six months ago despite having returned to competition a fortnight ago at the Shell Houston Open.

And the American, who turned 53 on Friday, was also back contesting this week’s RBC Heritage, and an event he captured five times from 1987 to 2003.

Darren Clarke congratulates Davis Love 111 on winning the Ryder Cup.

In contrast, Clarke has played in only six events since the Ryder Cup and all this season but missing the cut in each one.

And the Ulsterman revealed recently he is still finding it hard digesting losing the Ryder Cup and hardly a day passing without thoughts of what transpired at Hazeltine.

Clarke’s goal now is that he lands more fish than Love 111.

“It’s been fun having been the winning captain with October and November particularly great as I went to a couple of events with the Ryder Cup as company,” said Love.

“It has not been great that I haven’t been out as much as I would have liked given I broke my collar-bone in that skiing mishap and now that I am back onto the Tour I am slowly catching-up with all the guys from our team.

“But then I haven’t talked with Darren in a while but we are working on a fishing trip together somewhere.

“I know how much he likes his fishing, so if that comes out it will be sure to really nice to see him again.”
