Grants Beach – Unspoilt Pacific Ocean Shoreline North Of Sydney … See The Video.

It could have been so easy to jump back onto the Pacific Highway for the straightforward three hour drive back to Sydney.

I had just spent a wonderful few days, in between Christmas and New Year, in Port Macquarie with long-time good friend Brian Johnson and his wife, Suzie.

It had been raining the day before and the weather, while muggy, was still a little inclement but that was not about to spoil my plans.

So I thought, ‘No’ I’m going to take my time in heading back to Sydney.

I’ve already written about stopping off to play Bulahdelah Golf Club, and a golf course I had driven past more than a few dozen times.

You can go to that story clicking on the link:-   http://www.golfbytourmiss.com/2016/02/bulahdelah-golf-club-nsw-australia-twenty-dollars-for-a-haircut-ten-dollars-for-all-day-golf/

However rewinding a few hours that same day, I said my goodbye’s to Brian and ventured immediately south along the coastline.

But then what I came across was a wonderful section of unspoilt stretch of shoreline I never knew existed – Grants Beach.

The path leads to one of the best discovers on my recent return over the Christmas period to Australia.

Grants (North Haven) Beach is located on the north side of the Camden Haven River mouth. The southern end is protected by the break wall which offers great ‘right handers’ with a southerly swell. The beach is home to the Camden Haven Surf Lifesaving Club, who patrol the beach throughout the summer weekends. Dogs are allowed north of the patrolled area.

The beach runs north-south for about 3.5 kilometres and is paralleled by a lovely walking track through the littoral forest and heathland.

While it was not beach weather on the I visited, the beach is patrolled by council lifeguards and the Camden Haven Surf Club during school holidays.

And there is one thing for certain and that is Grant Beach will be on the map next time I venture north to Port Macquarie.
