Tiger Woods To Partner NBA Clippers Star Chris Paul In Wyndham C’ship Pro-Am.

14-time Major winning Tiger Woods will play Pro-Am ahead of this week’s 76th annual Wyndham Championship with North Carolina-born  L.A. NBA Clippers star Chris Paul on Wednesday at the Sedgefield Country Club.

Woods entered the $US 6.4m event late on Friday pursuant to PGA TOUR rules, but with the second round of the PGA Championship incomplete due to a weather delay, Woods said he would determine his next steps following completion of the season’s final Major championship won yesterday by Jason Day.

Then on Monday, Woods announced that he would make his first Wyndham Championship appearance this week.

“This is obviously huge news for the Wyndham Championship,” tournament director Mark Brazil said. “I’m most excited for golf fans throughout the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina who have stayed with us through thick and thin. We’ve had some great events over the last 10 years, and this one will obviously be very special with an unbelievable field – the best in our tournament history. Tiger choosing to play here is the icing on the cake.”

L.A. Lakers NBA star Chris Wood will play the Wyndham Championship Pro-Am alongside Tiger Woods.

With Woods now confirmed in the Wyndham Championship field, Wednesday public parking, originally scheduled for American Premier Furniture on Gate City Blvd. (Formerly High Point Road), will move to the Greensboro Coliseum parking lot and remain there through Sunday.

This week’s Wyndham Championship will be the 10th time Woods has played in North Carolina. He played the Wells Fargo Championship six times with one win and two top-10 finishes.
