• Played in 146 European Tour events since his last victory. (His victory in 2010 came in just his 18th event in his rookie season, after graduating from the Challenge Tour in 2009).

• His previous best European Tour performance since his 2010 Madeira win was second in the Open de España in 2010, in his next event after his victory.

• This victory beats his previous best 2015 performance of tied sixth in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.

• Victory comes in his sixth appearance in the Open de España.

• This victory beats his previous best performance in the Open de España of second in 2010, on his debut, losing a play-off to Alvaro Quiros.

• Becomes the first English winner of the Open de España since Kenneth Ferrie in 2003.

• Follows Neil Coles (1973), Howard Clark (1986), Sir Nick Faldo (1987), Mark James (1988, 1997), Andrew Sherborne (1992), Brian Davis (2000) and Kenneth Ferrie (2003), as English winners of the Open de España.

• In the 44th playing of the Open de España since the event became part of The European Tour in 1972, becomes the 39th different winner.

• Becomes the 294th English victory in European Tour history.

• Becomes the fourth English victory on the 2015 season. They are Danny Willett (Nedbank Golf Challenge), Andy Sullivan (South African Open Championship hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni and Joburg Open) and James Morrison (Open de España).

• Gains a European Tour exemption until the end of the 2017 season.

• Gains his largest European Tour prize of €250,000.

• His second win as a professional.

• The fifth European Tour victory on the 2015 European Tour by a former Challenge Tour player.
