Jordan Spieth Already Warming To Open C’ship At St. Andrews.

Jordan Spieth’s already eyeing this year’s Open Championship and adding the third leg to a career Grand Slam.

The new World No. 2 ranked Spieth is already 150/1 to capture all four Major Championships this year following his memorable Masters triumph and with World No. 1 Rory McIlroy 80/1 to capture the remaining three.

The Lone Star State-born Spieth’s star shone the brightest over all four days at Augusta National winning by four shots on the famed Georgia golfing gem.

And while Spieth heads to next month’s US Open at Chambers Bay in Washington State as a red-hot favourite he will draw on past experience at the Home of Golf in striving to capture golf’s oldest Major.

“The good think going to St. Andrews is that I’ve played it before,” he said.

“We played the course during the 2011 Walker Cup, we went to St. Andrews before going to Royal Aberdeen.

“To go to the Home of Golf and I what I consider one of the coolest places in the world is going to be really special as the Masters Champion, and to compete in front of the most knowledgeable fans in the world.

“I’m sure that it will be a great time, and I look forward to enjoying the town, the tournament, but to also enjoy the whole experience of playing in an Open Championship at St. Andrews.

“So it’s going to be really cool.

“And hopefully at that point, maybe try and go for the third leg of a Grand Slam (smiling).

“You can’t win four Majors unless you the first, right?”
