Rory McIlroy’s Straight Shooting Twitter Put Down.

Four-time Major winning Rory McIlroy showed an insight into his media friendly relationship with the golf media of the world.

It resulted from getting himself involved in the Twitter discussion following Sunday’s refusal by NBA star Marshawn Lynch’s to answer questions after the Seattle Seahawks playoff game against the Carolina Panthers.

McIlroy had first Tweeted:  “Love this! Paid to play not answer questions “: Marshawn Lynch after every question in his postgame interview, “I’m thankful.”

However McIlroy was then drawn into the discussion  when a cricket journalist got onto Twitter to post the following:  Matt Cleary @JournoMatCleary @McIlroyRory “And why exactly is he paid to play, Rory? I play golf, footy. Not paid to do it. But he and you are, because…?

Strangely, McIlroy replied to the question but then his answer reflected why the World No. 1 is comfortable dealing with the questions put to him by those dedicated to reporting on golf.

He tweeted:  “JournoMatCleary because we’re good at it….”

Not surprising, it was the end of that Twitter conversation.
