Poulter Has Time To Feed Ducks In Moving Three Clear In Turkey.

Ian Poulter had time to feed the ducks on route to forging his way to a three shot lead on day two of the storm-affected Turkish Airlines Open in Belek.

Poulter came from one shot off the lead heading into the second round and had snatched six birdies and had just one bogey before thunderstorms forced play to be abandoned in the $US 7m Final Four Series event.

There was light-hearted moment on the ninth hole of the Montgomerie Maxx Royal course when a few ducks emerged from one of the many hazards.

Poulter seized the moment by digging into his bag and feeding the ducks healthy portion of caddy, Terry Mundy’s turkey and cheese roll.

“The ducks were just loving the roll,” smiled Poulter.

And Pouter’s loving being back in the limelight and an indifferent season.

“I’m playing nicely, and to be on the top of the leader board is always nice,” he said.

“It would have been nice to finish the round off.  But I guess it wasn’t meant to be today.

“So I guess we’ll have to wait this one out, see what the weather is going to be like.  It’s supposed to be pretty bad tonight and first thing in the morning.  Hopefully we can get round two finished at some stage tomorrow and obviously get cracking on round three.”

In contrast, there was little comfort defending champ Victor Dubuisson who needed on-course treatment for a severe nose bleed.

The Gleneagles winning hero, who suffers from allergies, was attended to on the fourth hole by a doctor who inserted medicine in his nostril but with Dubuisson then having to stuff a tissue in his nostril for the next few holes.

And there had been so much blood on his shirt Dubuisson had to change shirts before play was halted.
