2015 Race To Dubai Schedule – Six New Events Among 47 Tournaments.

The 2015 European Tour Race to Dubai schedule will feature six new tournaments and seven new venues in a season of 47 tournaments next year.

The Tour announced the schedule today ahead of the final round of the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

New Race to Dubai counting events include the Thailand Classic from February 12th to 15th at Black Mountain in Hua Hin, the Hero Indian Open from Feb 19th to 22nd at a venue to be decided, the Shenzhen International from April 16th to 19th in Shenzhen, the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open from May 7th to 10th.

Also new to the schedule is the Paul Lawrie Match Play from July 30th to August 2nd in Aberdeen, Scotland and the return of the European Open after a five years to be played from Septembr 24th to 27th in Bad Griesbach, Germany.

Six events will be staged in South Africa in 2015 while there will be four in Scotland but only one in England and with no Wales Open.

Race to Dubai 30,700 yards to go (red)In a big change to the schedule the European Masters has been moved from its traditional date in September to the week after the British Open and to be staged in Switzerland from July 23rd to 26th.

This new date on the schedule for the Swiss event is a move to entice both the World No. 1 Rory McIlroy and World No. 2 Adam Scott to compete.  McIlroy is an ambassador for the event sponsor but the September date has always clashed with the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Play Off Series.  While Scott has a house within the township of Crans Montana and indicated he would probably add the event to the schedule now that it has been moved to July.

Also the Hong Kong Open has been moved and will now be staged from October 22nd to 25th and in the week prior to the commencement of the Tour’s Final Four Series.

Missing from the 2015 schedule is the Volvo Champions that has been played for the last four years also the Wales Open that was run from 2000 to 2014 while the World Match-Play Championship, that sponsors Volvo withdrew from last month, has yet to be allocated a date on the schedule.

As well, the Perth International, an Australasian Tour event and won this year by Thorbjorn Olesen, does not appear on the new schedule.
