The scene has been set for the opening day’s round in the 2014 AGW Home Internationals.

Firstly, a huge ‘thank you’ to Turkish Airlines who arranged the travel arrangements of the two dozen participants and with the extra delight of business class upgrades for the various Turkish Airlines flights from Edinburgh, Manchester, London and Dublin onto Istanbul and then transferring for the one hour flight to Antalya.
It has been a welcome return for your editor who was a guest of this superb hotel nearly a year ago for the staging of the inaugural Turkish Airlines Open, and with the 2014 version of the third event in the European Tour’s Final Four Series to take place starting on 13th November, 2014.
However there is a more important golf tournament to take place before then and it is the Home Internationals.
The AGW Home Internationals was first staged in 1998 and with one of the original four captains in Welshman golf reporting legend, Peter Corrigan present this week.
Dave Facey with captain the Welsh Team that will face the might of a Brian Keogh led Ireland team on the closeby Montgomerie designed course.
Martin Dempster has his Scottish Team primed to face a Jim Mossop captained England side, and with the Scottish Team sure to win best dressed honours thanks to the kind donation of Callaway shirts and caps by Callaway’s wonderful PR chief, Sue Page.
Hereunder is a selection of snaps from the arrival today along with the first of three four-team dinners, and, of course, the all-important first round draw.
