Kaymer Draws First Blood – Europe Go 1Up – Two Years After Kaymer Delivered Europe Victory

Two years after Martin Kaymer holed the winning putt at Medinah and the German has drawn first blood for Europe in birding the first hole on the opening day of the 2014 Ryder Cup.

The reigning US Open champion’s second shot on the PGA Centenary course hit the cup doing a ‘Highland Fling’ and with the American rivals of Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker conceding the birdie putt.

It put Europe 1up as they look to retain the gleaming gold trophy.
