Bev Norwood Honoured At 2014 Arnold Palmer Invitational.

The late Bev Norwood has been specially honoured at this week’s 2014 Arnold Palmer Invitational.

The seat where Bev sat for so many years in the Media Center at Bay Hill has been set aside in memory of Bev who passed away aged just 66 last September at the Cleveland Clinic following a short battle with cancer.

In his final email to his longtime friend, golf writer Dan Jenkins, Norwood wrote, “If it IS cancer, I just want you to know that I’ve been to 132 majors.”

Bev was born in  Oxford, North Carolina and then graduated from Wake Forest University.  He began his association with Arnold Palmer as a  commencement speaker and then came to know ‘The King’ very well in his many years working for IMG including working the Press Officer at the first Arnold Palmer Invitational here in suburban Orlando in 1979.
