Double Major winning Rory McIlroy has been spotted playing golf this week but not as a competitor in this week’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

The Irish Independent has a snap of McIlroy in today’s edition of the newspaper carrying his clubs into Dublin’s Westbury Hotel ahead of joining father in a game at Killeen Castle.

The newspaper also speculates McIlroy’s presence at Killeen Castle could be a harbinger in the Irish Open moving to the Jack Nicklaus designed course that has played host to the 2010, 2011 & 2012 Ladies Irish Open and the 2011 Solheim Cup.

Last Friday McIlroy had lunch at the Dublin Wine Rooms in the International Financial Services Center and with the owners saying the McIlroy’s are ‘regular clients’.

Later yesterday (Thursday) McIlroy tried to keep a low profile when he went back to Dublin to join in celebrations for Arthur’s Day.

The current World No. 6 arrived with a small entourage but without girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki as he slipped into Whelans on Wexford to watch a group called The Script play their second gig of the evening.
