Graeme McDowell Downs Pint … Now Looking To Lift US Open Trophy

Graeme McDowell is back in the States and gearing up for next fortnight’s US Open after spending the weekend in Portrush.

It was an earlier-than-expected visit to Northern Ireland after McDowell again missed the cut in the BMW PGA Championship.

His fiancée, Kristin had been present at Wentworth on day two of the flagship but as McDowell mentioned, she lasted just six holes following her future husband given the Artic-like conditions.

‘G Mac’ spent the weekend with family and Kristin seeing the sights of Portrush and while McDowell tweeted a photo of the couple sharing a pint of Guinness, she tweeted a snap of the shoreline at Royal Portrush.

McDowell had arrived at Wentworth with the bizarre record of having of missed cut (Masters), victory (RBC Heritage), missed cut (Players Championship), victory (Volvo World Match-Play Championship) and missed cut (BMW PGA).

And McDowell’s next event – the June 13th US Open Championship at Merion in Ardmore, Pennsylvania.
