Rory McIlroy Fallen Dubai Spectator Cleared Of Broken Arm & Buoyed By Signed Momento.

A woman hit by an errant Rory McIlroy tee shot has been cleared of a broken arm and rewarded by a signed DP World Tour Championship caddy bib.Lucy Butler was attending her first-ever golf tournament when she was struck by McIlroy’s ball during last Friday’s second round on the Earth Course at Jumeriah Estates in Dubai.

Butler was hit on the right forearm and was so much pain she began rolling on the ground in agony.

“My back was turned to the players and I felt this almighty pain in my arm,” said Butler to Dubai newspaper 7Days.

“It was excruciating and I was crying and rolling on the ground in agony the other spectators just ignored me.”

Butler was finally attended to by medics who wrapped her arm and putting it a sling.

She then received an email from the tournament operations manager saying that McIlroy has left the autographed caddy bib worn by J P Fitzgerald for her keeping.

Butler was advised to attend hospital but declined believing her arm was just bruised.

“It swelled up at first, as if there was a golf ball coming up from under the skin, but it’s gone down now and it’s just sore,” she said.

It is the thirdtime this year McIlroy has fallen a spectator in competition and left the person bruised and bandaged.

During the Open Championship McIlroy felled a young English lad with an errant drive down the 15th hole on day two and with McIlroy autographing a glove for him.

Then at the PGA Championship McIlroy hit a 30s-something female in the hip on route to his eventual eight-stroke victory at Kiawah Island.
