Rory McIlroy Believed To Have Purchased $10m Florida Home As He Plays Down Talks Of Nike Switch.

If rumours are correct then World No. 1 Rory McIlroy is believed have purchased a new $10m home in West Palm Beach, Florida.

And after recently putting his palatial Northern Ireland home on the market it seems appropriate the U.S. based McIlroy should want to be cementing himself in the States.

West Palm Beach is also close to the Bear’s Club that has afforded McIlroy the opportunity full membership rights so he can work on his game when not competing.

McIlroy could also pay cash for the dwelling given he’s earned close to $10m this 2012 season.

And if other rumours are correct, McIlroy will be sporting Nike attire and clubs from the start of the 2013 season.

There has been suggestions in the Irish press the current World No. 1 will be switching from long-time sponsor, Titleist and will be sporting the Nike swoosh in a multi-million dollar deal.

However McIlroy deflected such talk in a press conference here today at the Lake Malaren Golf Club in Shanghai and venue for this week’s $7m BMW Masters.

“These rumours have been going around for years and it seems to always come up at this time of the year,” said McIlroy.

“I leave it up to Conor (Ridge – Manager) to sort out so I can concentrate on my golf.

“That’s all I can do and besides I have enough to think about trying to get the ball in the hole.

“Also I’ve got a very important end to my season coming up and I need to concentrate myself fully on that goal.”

McIlroy has been drawn to play the opening two rounds of the 78-player field event in the company of Medinah winning colleagues, Westwood and Rose.

The trio are among 11 victorious European Ryder Cup stars competing this week in China with the only absentee being Spain’s Sergio Garcia.

And McIlroy is also among 15 fellow Major winners competing in Shanghai including victorious European Team captain, Jose Maria Olazbal.
