Ian Poulter Arrives In Shanghai To Relive Miracle Of Medinah.

Ian Poulter arrived in Shanghai mid-afternoon local time today (Mon) quickly reliving memories of his part in Europe’s dramatic ‘Miracle at Medinah’.

Poulter along fellow victorious Ryder Cup team mates Graeme McDowell, Lee Westwood and Justin Rose arrived on a direct flight from Chicago, and the city of their shock one point success, to Shanghai’s Pudong Airport.

Ian Poulter returns to competition this week in Shanghai to relive memories of his part in the ‘Miracle of Medinah’.

In fact, the four spent close to 24 hours travelling from Florida to the Windy City and then connecting with a 14 ½ hour flight to China’s financial capital.

The foursome, along with other players, officials and caddies travelling from Europe, were then ushered to a fleet of BMW courtesy cars and wisped to the stunning Crowne Plaza Hotel at Lake Malaren, and venue for this week’s $US 7m BMW Masters.

Poulter had spent 10 days unwinding in the Bahamas with his young family.

“It was amazing as I just couldn’t sleep for the first two days,” said Poulter.

After checking-in to his room, Poulter later ventured downstairs where found himself being congratulated at every turn for his role in Europe’s remarkable come-from-behind victory.

Poulter was observed in conversation with fellow England golfers Simon Khan, David Lynn, Danny Willett and Simon Dyson.

And it was Poulter doing all the talking and with his four golfing compatriots transfixed as Poulter relived one of golf’s greatest-ever aftearnoons.

“I’ve seen NBC coverage of the Singles but I am just really looking forward to the UK coverage of the last day,” said Poulter.

“But it’s just great to judge the reaction of everyone who watched the Ryder Cup.   It’s been incredible and I’m just so pleased to have played my part.”
