Fierce Turkey Storms Put Rory -v- Tiger Showdown On Hold.

Thunderstorms have forced a postponement to the much-awaited first-ever showdown between Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods in the Turkish Airlines World Golf Final at Belek, Turkey.

The fierce electrical storm began lashing the Atalya Golf Club and soon after the morning round of matches on day two were completed.

McIlroy and Woods were due to face each other this afternoon in round three but with McIlroy no chance of progressing to the semi-final after losing both his his opening encounters, first to American Matt Kuchar and then earlier today to South African Charl Schwartzel.

The continuing storms left organisers of the $7m event with no option but to abandon the four afternoon matches.

They will now be played on Wednesday morning and the semi-finals in the afternoon.

If McIlroy were to lose against Woods he is assured of a $300,000 prize cheque while a victory over the 14-time Major winner would see him being presented with $450,000.
