Three Sponsors, Three Events and Harrington Hopes To Generate Euro 200,000

In a unique charity fund-raiser, Padraig Harrington will wear three sponsors for three weeks in the goal of trying to raise Euro 200,000 for a cousin of his wife, Caroline who was left paralysed from the waist down following a car accident.

With Harrington’s help IdentityX, Clune Construction and Blarney.com have seized the unique three-week branding opportunity to raise funds through the Padraig Harrington Charitable Foundation for Gerard Byrne.

Padraig Harrington looking to raise over Euro 200,000 in unique three-week sponsorship deal.

Harrington will wear the logoes during these three upcoming weeks in the States – the Shell Houston Open, The Masters and the RBC Heritage at Hilton Head in South Carolina.

With the full support of his current sponsors in aid of this worthy cause, IdentityX, and owned by Dermot Desmond, will adorn his headwear and clothing with Clune Construction and Blarney.com taking positions on his clothing for these three high profile weeks on the golf calendar, the latter also agreeing to contribute a percentage of their website sales to the Foundation.

“Dermot is doing quite well and he’s very positive about everything, exceptionally positive,” said Harrington.

“He’s got good support around him and he couldn’t be taking it better so I’m thrilled with these guys who have come in and especially Clune as they came out of the blue to support the charity.

“So there is a lot of people doing their part and for me to do my part it tends to be a little bit  ….. Basically, I was looking to get the best value for the initiative I could for something.  So I came up with this idea that people might be interested in the sponsorship side because of  charity.

“It is an ideal three weeks everyone as everyone is talking about these these weeks highlighted by the Masters, and the fact I am playing the week before and the week after is a bonus.

“We’re trying to earn over Euro 200,000 and the three sponsors are giving a percentage to sales, as well so we can’t give a final figure as yet.

“The good thing about Blarney.com or Blarney Woollen Mills is that they’re the biggest seller of Irish goods on line.  I grew up with Blarney Woollen Mills buying things out of their shops but it’s amazing how they’ve moved on in times.”
