Canada’s Stunning Winter Landscape From 10,000 Metres Above.

Most times we take flying for granted especially in an era when it is so accessible to everyone.

However in flying out of London Heathrow and bound for Houston to cover this week’s Shell Houston Open I was asked by Delta Airlines attendant at the check-in desk if I would be willing to forgo travelling London/Atlanta/Houston and instead change my journey London/Minneapolis/Houston.

Of course, the offer of a $US 200 travel voucher was enticing.

During the flight I raised the blind to have a look if there was any scenery.  It was a beautful clear day and the sight below was sheer incredible.

Here was north-east Canada still gripped in winter with the snow and ice covered scenes truly amazing.

After always experiencing turbulence in flying down the east coast of Canada in the vicinity of the St. Lawrence River area there was no turbulance at all.

And after also always experiencing nearly an hour waiting on the USA Customs queue in Houston, we were processed in around a quarter of the time in Minneapolis.

If I am flying from the UK to the States again, as I will in August I’ve now found a new entry point into America.

Here is a selection of snaps from yesterday’s breathtaking flight.
