Graeme McDowell & Ross Fisher Make Dream Come True For Emirates Youngster.

A 12-year old Emirates youngster will have a tale to tell his classmates after playing a practice round on the Old Course at St. Andrews in the company of Ryder Cup winning stars, Graeme McDowell and Ross Fisher.

In a bizarre tale, Dhruv Nair found his way from the United Arab Emirates to the Home of Golf after being gifted an all expenses paid trip to Scotland.

Earlier this year a charity auction was conducted in connection with the Emirates Airline Invitational at the Yas Golf Links in Abu Dhabi.

On offer was the chance to play the Old Course with McDowell and Fisher.

Tournament Host Abdullah Al Naboodah won bid $45,000 but donated the prize to good friend and Al Ahli FC manager David O’Leary.

However, in an overwhelming generosity, O’Leary ‘re-donated’ it to 12-year-old Dhruv Nair.

The talented youngster, who secured a spot in the field via the Worldwide Golf Golden Ticket Qualifying Series, had put in a hugely impressive performance in the Pro-Am section of the event to finish just one stroke back from the winners alongside playing partner Pablo Larrazabal on 11-under-par.

“This is amazing, the best day of my life,” said Nair.

“I really enjoyed playing with the pros at Yas Links and I played really well, my best round ever.”

McDowell delighted in meeting the youngster who played a superb drive into the wind down the first and then after laying-up short of the Swilcan Burn, he found the green with this third and just missed his par putt.

Fisher, whose flight had arrived later into Edinburgh, caught up with the group on the first green.

Fisher and McDowell then headed back to the championship tee on the second with Nair hitting off the forward tee.

However to the youngster’s enormous delight it was the 12-year hitting last into the second green.
