Stop looking!  The Search is over.  Rory McIlroy’s missing 3-wood has been found. McIlroy ‘lost’ the 3-wood off in hurling it in disgust off the ninth tee at the Liberty National course during the final round of the weather-delayed Northern Trust in New Jersey. The four-time major winner said in disowning the club he hurled in the direction of the New Jersey Turnpike and then once news broke of the incident, and ahead of last week’s BMW Championship, every man and his black dog seemed ...

Rory McIlroy was heading straight for the range after this patience was tested with three bogeys in four holes near the end of his round of 68 on the opening day of the season-ending Tour Championship in Atlanta. McIlroy, under the unique scoring procedure in place at East Lake, began the round at two-under par but eight shots behind American Patrick Cantlay, who headed the 30-player field by two shots at 10-under par. And after McIlroy’s two-under opening round he advances to four-under ...

“I can take the heat. I’ve taken heat my whole entire life!” declared embattled Bryson DeChambeau. In a first public interview after the PGA Tour threatened fans with expulsion for unruly behaviour, the American has also likened himself to billionaire businessman Elon Musk and Jeff Bosos. “It’s because I am a little different. I understand that and I appreciate that. Whether you are Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, there’s always going to be heat. I understand that and respect that”, said ...

Stenson birdied his opening two holes on route to a bogey-free display on the completely revamped Marco Simone course that is set to host the 2023 Ryder Cup. The champion Swede arrived in the Italian capital on the back of a third-place finish at the Omega ...

Rory McIlroy admits Padraig Harrington is facing a ‘difficult’ time selection-wise should the likes of Shane Lowry fall short of qualifying automatically for the Ryder Cup and now just three weeks away. McIlroy long ago assured himself a sixth Ryder Cup cap in automatically qualifying for Harrington’s team but the question now with just two qualifying events to go is who is Harrington going to pick and who is going to be left bitterly disappointed. Seven of Harrington’s current nine automatic ...

Rory McIlroy has not been immune to unruly fan behaviour and it’s why he sympathises with Bryson DeChambeau following the unsavoury incidents at last week’s BMW Championship. Much has already been written in the two days since last Sunday’s final round on the outskirts of Baltimore and the incident that took place as DeChambeau was abused by a fan as he made his way from the 18th green in the moments after losing a six-hole play-off to Patrick Cantlay. McIlroy along with Cantlay ...
