Later day Oban-born Robert MacIntyre will look to duplicate MacFarlane’s achievement some 388 miles away at the Oakmont club in Pennsylvania. He’s golf’s newest Grand Slam champion but for Rory McIlroy, and also the proud 2011 US Open winner,  the 2025 US Open will be one Rors will be looking to quickly forget. Victor Perez’s Ace Just A Second In Oakmont History & His Second This Month.

French golfing ace Victor Perez’s on day two of the 2025 US Open was remarkably just a second hole-in-one in Oakmont history. As well, and as Victor revealed hereunder, it was his second hole-in-one this month. VICTOR PEREZ: Yeah, obviously a hole-in-one takes a little luck. Obviously I was trying to hit something maybe 15, 20 feet past the hole and it maybe spun a little bit more and bounced in, so a little fortunate which I’ll definitely take going into the weekend. Q. What club? VICTOR ...

Lowry: “One Of The The Stupidest Thing I’ve Done In Golf”.

Shane Lowry had shown his golfing disgust on day one of this year’s US Open by hurling an on-course microphone but it seems Oakmont got its own back on the Irishman on day two of the year’s third men’s major. Already five-over for his second round and 13-over in total and headed for the weekend off Lowry walked onto the 14th green to mark his ball for a putt, only he forgot to put down a coin and just picked it up. Frozen in disbelief for a second or two, Lowry turns to caddie ...

First Lowry & Now McIlroy Exhibiting Oakmont Frustration

The Irish must not be enjoying the experience of tackling this week’s US Open host venue at Oakmont. First we saw Shane Lowry show his dislike on day one when he hurled a greenside microphone following an indifferent shot.  The 2019 Open Champion posted a horror nine-over 79 while it was not that much on day two with Lowry adding a mistake-ridden 78 to easily missed the cut by 10 strokes at 17-over. Grand Slam winning Rory McIlroy showed his own displeasure by hurling his club and esmashing ...
