Westwood: “The Victory Shot Of My Career That 24 Years Ago Played As A 4-Iron But Now A 7-Iron”.
It was a golf shot at the time heard probably the length and breadth of the men’s golf world.
Lee Westwood’s senational second shot from 218 yards out using a 4-iron at the par-five 558-yard 9th hole, and his final round during the hosting of the 2003 Dunhill Links Championship at Kingbarns Links.
His albatross ‘2’ capped off a new Kingsbarns course record, 10-under par 62 and proved to be the springboard to a one-shot 21-under par victory for Westwood over Ernie Els.

Bland Proudly Celebrating 21-Years Since A Maiden Dunhill Links Appearance.
For Richard Bland it was a vastly different experience walking onto the St. Andrews Links practice range early today than it was all of 21 years ago.
Firstly, Bland was aged 32 years back in 2005 when making his maiden appearance in the now $5m Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Bland was actually contesting a 99th DP World Tour back in this very same week in 2005 and in only a third full Tour season and after having made his Tour debut in the 1998 Open Championship.

Harrington Post USAs Dominant Presidents Cup Triumph: “Again Proves The Importance Of Sunday Singles Winning Momentum”.
Padraig Harrington is spot on in declaring the importance of Sunday Singles winning momentum following the USAs President Cup historic come from behind three-point victory at Medinah.
The Americans handed out the biggest lopsided Singles winning session in Presidents Cup history winning nine of the dozen final round matches and with the shell-shocked Internationals left with just two wins while there was just one match halved in the home sides 17-13 triumph.
It was the Americans 11th triumph in a ...
