Snedeker’s USA Team ‘Will Be A Problem In Ireland’ Declaration Is Nothing New Declares Molinari.

Victorious Presidents Cup captain Brandt Snedeker may have led his USA side to a historic Sunday Singles comeback triumph but his confident sounding call “This team is going to be a problem in Ireland” is already falling on deft ears among those on the 2027 European Ryder Cup back-room team.

What he means exactly by ‘problem’ is uncertain but there’s now two 2027 European Ryder Cup vice-captains in Padraig Harrington and Francesco Molinari strongly suggesting the visiting Adare Manor American’s big problem will be the defending Europeans.

Harrington spoke yesterday exclusively with GolfByTourMiss saying the visiting USA Ryder Cup will again come up against a European  Team now getting used to victories.

And Molinari spoke today with this website declaring what Snedeker was saying on Sunday night in nothing new in an American Presidents Cup and/or Ryder Cup captain’s vocabulary,

“The American team can rightfully feel very proud but what they’ve been saying in terms of being super confident in heading into the Ryder Cup is nothing new,” said Molinari ahead of this week’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

“I mean they’re right but then we’ve heard all that before.

“As well, Europe too has been used to playing many Ryder Cup’s against the odds including my own fond memories of being in the Medinah team back in 2012 when we halved the opening day session but were behind in the three other sessions going into the Singles.

“We then won the Singles and retained the Ryder Cup.”

Indeed it was Martin Kaymer securing victory for the Europeans and with Molinari, out in the very last match against Tiger Woods and halving the match for Europe’s 14 1/2 to 13 1 /2 triumph.

Molinari also shared Padraig Harrington’s belief and with Irishman and now fellow 2027 European Ryder Cup vice-captain speaking yesterday (Monday) with GolfByTourMiss in pointing out the importance of a winning momentum in such as team event as the Ryder Cup.

“Yes, Padraig is correct in saying that as momentum is such a big thing in team events,” said Molinari.

“When the Singles draw was released I still thought the Internationals had a good chance, leading by three points as they did. Though you never know and at the end of the day

“As well, the format of the Presidents Cup and even though it is a team event, is slightly different in terms of format to the Ryder Cup.

“I have more friends on the International side and they played great but they just came up a really strong performance from the Americans on the Sunday and when it needed to count the most.

“So, looking ahead to the Ryder Cup, it’s still nearly a year away and it’s being played on European home soil”.
