Here’s a great story and it goes to the heart of what is good about the game of golf and true champions like Rory McIlroy. McIlroy’s kindness centers around the mystery of a parcel sent from Dublin, Ireland to Louisville, Kentucky. The parcel was postmarked 8th December, 2014 but when it was opened in Kentucky the first reaction was who had sent a box of items containing signed PGA Championship and Open Championship flags, caps and other golf related items? In fact, it was McIlroy as ...

Peter Uihlein had an introduction to the New Year he would no doubt rather forget. The Florida-based golfer, who competes on the European Tour, found himself upside down and motionless when The Wizarding World of Harry Potter– Dragon Alley theme ride came to a dramatic and unplanned halt. Uihlein boarded the ride at the Universal Theme Park in Orlando, Florida that takes enthusiasts through cavernous passageways that lead deep underground on the all-new, multi-dimensional thrill ride, Harry Potter ...

With a day remaining in 2014 and World No.1 Rory McIlroy has been spotted not on a golf course or attending a major sporting  event nor getting ready to celebrate the arrival of a new year. No, the four-time Major winner was observed ‘in frame’ as the main display in a West Palm Beach optometrist shop window. And I have to say the photo of McIlroy wearing spectacles bears a striking resemblance to famed rock-and-roll singer Buddy Holly. Take a look for yourself.

Congratulations to Tiger Woods who today (December 30th) celebrates his 39th birthday. The 14-time Major winning Woods, who was born in 1975, is expected to spend the day with his two children at his palatial Jupiter Island residence to the north of West Palm Beach. Others celebrating their birthday on December 30th include Lebron James, NBL star with the Cleveland Cavaliers who turns 30 while comedian Tracey Ullman is 55 and former ‘Monkees’ singer Mike Nesmith will turn the ripe old ...

It is a very happy 30th birthday to Germany’s Martin Kaymer. The double Major Champion, including the reigning US Open winner and Player’s Championship title holder, will have a few more weeks relaxation before commencing his 2015 season at the 10th anniversary of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. And Kaymer will head to the UAE capital looking for a fourth success.

Here is Tiger Woods own words is a summary of season 2014 ….. “As a golfer, 2014 was one of my most frustrating years because I’ve been hurt pretty much all year. I’m finally healthy enough to practice and dedicate myself to the game of golf again, and that’s going to be fun for next year. But, in so many other ways, it was a great year and I have a lot to be thankful for. My kids are doing fantastic and are growing up and maturing, and it’s happening faster than ...

Adam Scott has handed Mike Keir one of the most sought after roles in golf and that’s the full-time caddy duties. Scott confirmed Kerr’s appointment from his Gold Coast home and after the Zimbabwean-born Kerr had caddied for Scott throughout the recently completed Australasian Tour. “I’m delighted that Mike has accepted my offer and I am confident that he will be a valuable member of my team for 2015 and beyond” said Adam. The current World No. 3 created Australian sporting ...
