Jose Maria Olazabal and fellow Spaniard Miguel Angel Jimenez joined Tour officials and other dignitaries in unveiling a special Seve Ballesteros commemorative plaque at the entrance to the Crans-sur-Sierre course.
Ballesteros was the youngest-ever winner of the Omega European Masters in 1977 and he became still the only player to successfully defend the title the following year before also winning again in 1989.

In another big boost for golf in Scotland, the Junior Ryder Cup is returning in 2014 to the Home of Golf.
The annoucement coincides with a visit to Gleneagles on Friday by Scotland’s Minister for Commonwealth Games and Sport, Shona Robison.
Gleneagles played host to the Junior Ryder Cup four years ago but while news the event in returning to Scotland in three years time, a venue is yet to be announced.

Scotland’s Minister for Commonwealth Games and Sport, Shona Robison, today celebrated Gleneagles’ inaugural £5 Friday at the Johnnie Walker Championship together with young children benefitting from the clubgolf programme.
As the venue for the Johnnie Walker Championship and the host venue for the 2014 Ryder Cup, the Gleneagles Hotel is one of the strongest supporters of golf in Scotland.
