* The win is McIlroy’s sixth European Tour International Schedule victory in his 134th European Tour event.

• Moves to second place behind Thomas Bjorn with earnings of €1,295,825 in 2013/14 wraparound Race to Dubai.

• His first European Tour victory since the 2012 DP World Tour Championship, Dubai.

• This victory beats his previous best European Tour performance since his 2012 win in Dubai of tied second in the 2014 Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.

* McIlroy now has nine top-10s from his 11 stroke play events this year on both the European and PGA Tour’s.

• Becomes the first player from Northern Ireland to win the BMW PGA Championship.

• This victory beats his previous best performance in the BMW PGA Championship of fifth in 2009.

• Began the final day seven shots behind Bjorn, the 54 hole leader.

* His win equals the largest final round comeback in the history of the Championship, set by Simon Khan in 2010.

• Only the second of his six European Tour victories where he has made up a final round deficit to win. Made up three to win the 2011 Hong Kong Open and seven at the 2014 BMW PGA Championship.

• His seven shot final round comeback is the largest since Robert Green made up seven at the 2010 Portugal Masters.

• His first European Tour victory in England and first on European soil.

• The fourth destination he has won European Tour events in. They are: Dubai (twice), England, Hong Kong and United States (twice).

• The first player from Northern Ireland to win on The European Tour since Michael Hoey at the 2013 M2M Russian Open.

• Becomes only the second Irishman to win the Championship and first since Harry Bradshaw in 1958.

• The 50th Northern Irish win in European Tour history.

• The seventh successive European Tour season that Northern Ireland have won on The European Tour, dating back to the 2008 season.

• Moves over €18 million in European Tour Official Career Earnings.

• Gains a place in the 2014 WGC – Bridgestone Invitational and 2015 Volvo Golf Champions. (Already exempt for the 2014 WGC – HSBC Champions).

• His sixth consecutive year he would have won at least once worldwide, dating back to 2009.

• His 66 today marks the first time has broken 70 in the final round of the BMW PGA Championship.
• His 12th victory as a professional while McIlroy has now won on four different continents.
• The 46th different winner in the Championship’s 60th edition.
• Northern Ireland becomes 13th different country to win the Championship.
• Moves to second place overall with earnings of Euro 1,712,191 in European Ryder Cup Points table.• This victory beats the best performance by a Northern Irishman in this event of tied second by Darren Clarke in 1997 and 2000.

• At aged 25 is the second consecutive player in their 20s to win the BMW PGA Championship, following Matteo Manassero.

• Becomes the 20th winner of the BMW PGA Championship from a player in their 20s.
