Scotland’s Chris Doak is headed for his biggest-ever pay day after holing a 30-foot birdie putt on the last in a third round 69 and inside Wentworth top-10 on six under par.
Doak’s biggest prize cheque in 84 Tour events is £43,534 for his share of 12th place in last year’s Scottish Open and he will more than double that amount with a top-10 finish later today at Tour HQ.

And even if he finishes top-20 it will be more than what he earned last July at the Gil Hanse designed Castle Stuart course.
He said: “I’ve got a great opportunity of securing my Tour card for 2015 and that’s going to be the idea tomorrow.
“But we’ll just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow, and if I can get a couple of birdies early on that will help the momentum, definitely.”
Doak will then be among now just five Scots who will tee-up in Monday’s 36-hole U.S. Open qualifier at Walton Heath.
Both Richie Ramsay and Scott Henry have withdrawn and with Ramsay to focus on next week’s Nordea Masters in Sweden.
He said: “After a long absence I don’t think I’m ready yet for 36 holes, so I’m going to concentrate on playing Sweden.”
