Talk about keeping it all in the family as this is exactly what the Fitzpatrick brothers have done.
A week after elder brother Matt brilliantly captured the Valspar Championship on the PGA Tour and his younger brother Alex has broken through to win a maiden DP World Tour success at the Hero Indian Open near New Delhi.
The 27-year-old Alex is four years younger than Matt with the proud golfing family celebrating a double Fitzpatrick back-to-back success, and this despite Alex posting a 72nd hole double bogey.

Alex headed into the final round of the Indian Open trailing four shots behind third round leader Eugenio Chacarra and with the 26-year-old Spaniard looking to successfully retain the title.
Fitzpatrick seemed have spoiled any chance of a win when his bogeyed the third and fourth holes before finding all forward gears and then picking-up eight birdies from the sixth to 17th holes in storming past the struggling Chacarra.
However it was not the super proud finish that Fitzpatrick was hoping as he horribly doubled the last in a closing 69 but still good enough to win by two shots at nine-under on the famed DLF G & CC course.
Chacarra could manage just two birdies but also posted six bogeys in his shock round of a three-over 75 and tumble into second place on seven-under.
“It feels amazing, I feel a little more composed now than I was on the green. I’ve put in a lot of hard work and had a lot of doubts, I feel like I really stuck with it, especially over the past couple of years,“ said Fitzpatrick.
“I’ve just got a really great team around me, a great bunch of people, so I’m really lucky to be in this situation and I’m over the moon. This course is so hard that you almost have to forget the past shots or previous holes. I think on Friday I had nine birdies and I didn’t know until I’d finished, and same today.
I felt like I was playing really nicely, I started to hole some really good putts, I still don’t know how many birdies I had, I was just trying to stick in it. From the experience of Joburg, being in contention, if you kind of stick around for a while, hopefully one door will open and luckily for me it was today.
“Hopefully I can continue to push on, I feel like my game’s in a really good spot and I’m super-excited for the rest of the year, there’s a lot of great events to come and a lot of events I’m excited for“.
And, of course, the response everyone for and that is Alex’s reaction to enjoying success seven days post his double Ryder Cup victorious Ryder Cup older brother, Matt.
“It’s great to join my brother Matt as a winner on the DP World Tour,“ said Alex.
“It can be hard sometimes when you’re constantly chasing someone’s accolades but luckily it’s my brother, so it’s not horrific. It’s extremely nice to join him in the winners’ ranks and hopefully I can continue to push on.
“I idolise him so just trying to be like him in every way so hopefully we can keep doing well.“
Fabulous Alex and well said.
