A big field of eight Scots will be teeing-up in Monday’s start to a historic MENA Tour first in Egypt.
The relaunched MENA Tour staged its opening two events of the wraparound 2025/26 late last year and now is set to host four events in succession and in the country known as the Land of the Pharoahs, the remarkable pyramids, the mighty Nile River, and an incredible history.
Heading the eight Scots taking to the impressive-looking New Giza course will be Glasgow’s Scott Henry, a past winner on the secondary HotelPlanner Tour.
Henry, 38, captured the 2012 Kazakhstan Open and a year after winning the Gosser Open on the Alps Tour while he’s the reigning Paul Lawrie Golf Centre Scottish Par 3 Champion having won the title last June on the Tartan Tour.
The seven others accompanying Henry to Egypt for this historic first in the MENA Tour’s history, each teed-up in the Paul Lawrie hosted event and as regulars on the Tartan Tour.

They include David Rudd, Jamie Savage, Sebastian Sandin, Craig Ross, Aidan O’Hagan, Michael Stewart and Will Porter.
Sandin and Ross ended last year in good form finishing T2nd in the Tartan Tour Championship at Trump International while the now 23-year-old Sandin, who had won on the Tartan Tour in 2024, contested the last two events of ’25 on MENA Tour ahead of the Festive Season break finishing third and T4th,
As well, O’Hagan was T5th and runner-up in the same two events as Sandin.
Of note in the first of the four straight Egypt events is the now 43-year-old Spaniard Alejandro Canizares, who contested 411 DP World Tour events in his career, winning just shy of Euro 7m in prize-money, and in a Tour career capped with two wins – 2006 Russian Open and 2014 Hassan 11 Trophy.
Though missing from this maiden event in Egypt is current MENA Tour No. 1 Chris Wood, though the Englishman will be present in the second event, commencing January 24th at the Al Marassi Golf Club.
