A reoccurrance of a hip injury has seen England’s Simon Dyson withdraw from this week’s flagship BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in Surrey.
Dyson, 34 first suffered the injury during last fortnight’s Players Championship and had to withdraw following the opening round on the TPC Sawgrass course in Florida.
The York-born Dyson was all set to contest the Wentworth event for a 10th occasion and a year after finishing third.
His place in the Euro 4.5m event will be taken by Dutchman Maarten Lafeber.
