French golf is ready to pop open the celebratory champers with Alex Levy just one shot shy of the lead heading to the final round of AfrAsiaBank Mauritius Open.
Levy birdied four of his closing seven holes in adding a 67 in the windy and sometimes continuing wet conditions to his earlier scores of 68 and 66, moving to third place at 15-under on the host Heritage La Réserve Golf Links, Heritage Bel Ombre on the southern tip of Mauritius.
Levy right on the tail of the leading duo of South African Casey Jarvis (68) and American Gerard Ryan who produced a sizzling 63 after bogeying his second hole but then proceeding to birdie 10 holes in succession from his third hole.

You can judge above in the video how excited Alex has been this week with yet another example in chasing after his superb chip shot into the par-5 15th and resulting in the fifth birdie of his round.
The affable 35-year-old continues to make the most of his invitation, competing in a first event of the 2026 DP World Tour season but with the proud five-time Tour winner unsure where next he will tee up.
Of course victory on the tiny Indian Ocean island would land him a virtual three-year full Tour exemption – all of 2026 and then 2027 and ’28.
Quitely making his present felt has been Gerard and at World No. 57 the highest ranked player in the Mauritius field by 25 places.
Though you may ask was is this year’s eighth place finisher in the 2025 PGA Championship and the play who won the Barracuda Championship on the PGA TOUR doing in Mauritius?
“The kind people at the OWGR sent me some end-of-year projections,” he said.
“I’m just outside the top 50. I figured I’d have one more crack at that and give it my best shot. Then I could hang my hat on giving it my all for the season, and the top 50 by the end of the year to get into The Masters.
“So that’s kind of a kick in the pants to come 10 000 miles from Florida and tee it up.
“It wasn’t on the Bingo card at the start of the season for sure, but I’m excited to be here. It’s a really cool place, and hopefully two more solid rounds will make it a nice trip that was worth it.
