“I came here with the goal to win a golf tournament,” Ewart said.
“It wasn’t necessarily to finish in the top five or 25. It was to go and prepare to win a golf tournament. So to do it feels great. It’s kind of like the old saying of ‘aim small, miss small.’
“I try to look at any tournament you go out and try to win. If you set your standards a little below that, you’re going to sell yourself short a little bit.”
Prior to this week, Ewart had won once in his short pro career and that was August last year in capturing the Elk Ridge Saskatchewan Open presented by Lake Country Co-Op on the PGA Tour Americas schedule.
Now he’s a two-time winner and just week’s away from the world stage.
The 26-year-old Ewart had brilliantly kick-started his quest to secure a PGA Tour card early on day two at Q-School when he aced the par-3 fifth hole also on the Dye’s Valley course.
Then over the remaining two-and-a-half rounds Ewart was there or thereabouts in the race to secure one of the top-5 placings that would earn full PGA Tour membership.
The current World No. 449th ranked golfer was tied for the lead with a handful of holes remaining over Sunday’s last day before breaking two shots clear with birdies at 13, 14 and 16 for his maiden pro career victory.

A the close of Q-School here is the top five 2026 PGA Tour qualifiers:

Bitter disappointment for popular Tour player Camilo Villegas who missed out by one shot in joining the play-off for fifth place.
Villegas birdied four holes in succession from his 14th in a round of 66 to head to the clubhouse leading at 10-under. He got his last day round underway in brilliant manner with an eagle ‘3’ at the first but could look back to a ninth hole double-bogey, mising out by a shot in making the nthe 11-under play-off.
In the end it was American Dylan Wu defeating Canadian Ben Silverman for the final 2026 PGA Tour card on offer.
