Chills Out In Vegas, Enjoys Ashes Opener Now Time For Trophies Says Min Woo

Former tournament champion Min Woo Lee  is eagerly returning to competition for a first time in some six weeks at this week’s BMW PGA Championship.

Min Woo has not competed since his official 22nd tournament of this year and that being a T10th at the PGA Tour’s Baycurrent Classic.

He season has been sensationally capped by a maiden Tour success in March, keeping home Texas and US Open winning hero Gary Woodland at arms reach in March at the Texas Children’s Houston Open while two months ago he secured a next best this year thanks to a T5th result at the DP World Tour’s French Open.

Since then he’s been hanging out in his new Vegas abode before he journeyed home to Perth, Australia and eagerly headed to The 2025 Ashes cricket series opening match cheering on the Aussies who humbled arch rivals England in just two days of a normal five-day match.

So after a month off back home in Australia, he’s now ready to contend for a second Kirkwood Cup after finishing atop of the board in 2023.

“We all want to get our hands on the trophies,” he said smiling.

“I just want to play really good solid golf and hopefully I can give myself a chance on Sunday to get that trophy.

“It’s nice being back in Australia and playing in front of friends and family. A good result will be nice but just have fun. It’s the end of the year and ready to relax afterwards.”

Now, he returns to the DP World Tour’s season opener in front of home fans after over a month off ready to showcase those changes.

The BMW Australian PGA Championship offers the perfect stage to do that. Lee knows the course well, having also finished tied 15th in his title defence last year.

“I am feeling good. It’s great to come back to a place you won before.
