Nassau, Bahamas …
Tiger Woods has revealed how ‘failure’ in a number of events this year led to victory in the very last event of the 2017/18 PGA Tour season.
“If I had of won the Valspar Championship in Tampa, and four tournaments in, that would have been too soon,” said Woods said Woods ahead of this weeks Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.
“It didn’t so I then went through the early Spring and into the Summer and I was failing at Bay Hill and failing at the PGA Championship and failing at the Open Championship with the lead on the back nine and while they were all failures, I kept a little bit better.
“I kept getting a little more consistent and I knew my time would come and then all of a sudden and in the last stroke-play event ‘boom’ it happens.
“I played with the lead for all four days and that at the end of the day is how much I got out of it, as well.
